We may not be able to ask the specific question “What Can We Do” in practical terms, but might it help Americans to know that they are not alone in the world? My mother's family came on the Mayflower but I have great empathy and a lifetime of understanding of being a new American like my husband.

When Trump was going to send his thugs here to San Francisco, Speaker Pelosi said that if ICE breaks any state laws they would be arrested by local law enforcement. Can't the other states and cities do the same?

Hello Jim. I listen to your Substack podcasts and so many other podcaster M-F. And I know we, as concerned American listeners, genuinely want to be out there in the streets as an engaged, organized and mobilized subscribers with a COMMON and COLLECTIVE message from our Substack community.
I fear that our current Congress has been entirely neutered, and will not be able to take our fragile democracy into the next year's midterm elections. Perhaps our growing Substack family needs to work together, plan together and execute together our own public protests, governmental walkouts and corporate boycotts. Just look at the Meidas Touch Media, so strong with 5.6 million listeners!
Please understand that we need to unite ALL Substackers who each day work hard and are deeply dedicated to taking down this "batshit crazy" US president.
