Same here! He had been the ONLY one on CNN I bothered to ever watch clips of. The moment I heard he left CNN and then someone posted he was going to Substack I made a beeline over here and subscribed to him for a year! It was a good feeling to finally completely cut off CNN after that! I have loved following Jim Acosta for many, many years and plan on following him for many more!
Same! The writing had been on the wall re CNN for a long time, and I knew that ‘if’ -- or I should say ‘when’ -- they tried messing with Jim, that that’d be the last straw for me. From one loyal Jim-follower to another, you nailed it!
Love Jim and started watching him when he started on Substack. I've stopped watching the TV news and I pace out who I listen to on Substack. Jim is great and brings so much experienced to his show. I pay for 3 of them and watch what I can of the others. Jim is one that I pay for.
Same here! I'm on a very limited budget, being retired on Social Security only, so I can only actually subscribe to very few! Jim Acosta's Substack is a definite MUST HAVE!
People follow integrity and so we followed Jim!! I have been on Substack for a while as paid subscriber to the wonderful Dr. Marshall beautiful writings and a follower of Mary Trump, but I became completely hooked to the Substack Lives after subscribing to The Contrarian. The Contrarian did a Live with Jim Acosta to introduce him to Substack’s audience, and I think to also introduce him Substack’s Live’s potential. This is an outstanding platform.
Please don’t get bought out by some awful billionaire. I wish you guys would come up with a pricing convention, which would allow for general support of smaller or new accounts. Like me, I’m sure others would like to support all the wonderful contributors, but we can’t afford individual subscriptions for them all. A pool of contributions would be great to help support and give us all a sense ownership to Substack’s success and future growth.
Strongly about and do not want to let go of so that I can afford to support others. Don’t get me wrong, I like that there is so much access to Substack for free, and I think paid subscribers should get additional access for their support. What I’m advocating for is a way to contribute to general fund for supporting small and newer accounts to give them a chance to grow and gain a following. Everyone doesn’t come in with a huge following like a Jim Acosta or a Joy Reid. Does that make sense?
Would very much like to have some form of payment structure that was friendlier to the pocketbook. I’ve paid for about 6 accounts and just can’t afford more.
One I’d like to have more access is $100/year. I can’t do that and subscribe/support others.
I also subscribe to the Contrarian, and was introduced to Jim's substack on that platform. It does get expensive subscribing to so many substacks, but I try to catch them on sale when I can!
Well, not substack itself, but some of the creators will have provide discounts on their work from time to time. I've saved as much as 20% on a few subscriptions.
I'm so happy Jim started his channel. He's my favorite journalist. He's credible, honest, and tells it like it is. I trust him and look forward to his show every day!
My husband asked me what I'm doing? I said that I'm watching a podcast on Substack. He said show me. I was gone for hours and came back to see him on substack.
Loved this interview. Jim is the best and so appreciative of his honesty, integrity and voice of reason. Jim has held his mission of stating truth to power and love his casualness while still being true to himself.
Jim's Substack was the the first I upgraded to "paid." This medium absolutely suits him. I'm struck by the visual and audio quality of Substack, even taking into account that everyone is using their own devices. I'm planning to move my satire Substack to include video this year -- it's just so alluring.
So glad you joined Substack Jim, I got rid of my TV in May of 2023 when I became disgusted with all the damned lies coming from stations I used to trust. I now get all my news from Substack sources I can trust. I'm open to other points of view, I'm just not open to flat out lies.
I no longer watch CNN. What's the point, when they have craven Trump apologists like Scott Jennings. He's lying every time he opens his mouth, and CNN knows it, and they pay him to lie to viewers in the name of being "balanced." But that's not being balanced. It's dishonesty. It's not doing a service to the viewers. It's not informing them in an honest way. There is no excuse or justification for the illegal things Trump and his minions are doing, and deliberately platforming people who lie or do whataboutism is just wrong.
Jim Acosta is the best!!❤️
So agree
He comes across as a genuinely decent guy and a total professional. I've really enjoyed a more casual Jim Acosta that we get to see on indy media.
I agree!!
It's clear, from all the comments that come in during your show, that people are loving it. It's my "can't miss this" event Monday-Friday.
Same !! I'm on the west coast, so his show is my mid day break from stupid shit. 😅 I friggin love it !!
I'm in the same boat. I hate missing Jim live! He has always been "must-see TV" for me.
Jim’s arrival on Substack was a cause for celebration for me and my family!!
i don’t want to miss a thing 💙

Same here!!!! I was so glad he left CNN and am elated to be a part of this group here.

Me too! I cut cable a while back and now I invest that money into my favorite Substack contributors. I loved Jim on CNN and love him even more now.

I have 4 subscriptions, which I feel

Don't change the substack format!. Don't make it like traditional media!!!!
WE LOVE DUKE!
OH YES! That goes without saying!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
absolutely!

I agree with you Jim, the personal attachment is most important.

You're absolutely right. He's so emboldened now Trump is back. 🤮🤮
