Jim, this is a personal message to you. You were an excellent reporter and consummate network broadcaster for many years. You are still an excellent, compassionate reporter. But Jim, you no longer work for corporate media…you are free from that constraint. I know it will take awhile to adjust, but speaking loudly and passionately as you are doing is PROFOUNDLY important. In less than a month, you have 250,000 + subscribers. You are joining with great Americans speaking out and for democracy. NEVER underestimate yourself or the impact you are having for the Pro-Democracy movement.

A grateful paid subscriber

couldn’t agree more. These substack pods are great. We need them.

Exactly, and the voters are starting to wake up. Great letter from Robert Reich on the growing resistance.

So agree Brenda. I became a paid supporter because I believe in Jim's voice and I want to hear it unfettered. No apologies. No surrender. There is work to be done.

Me too. I support Jim 100%.

Yes! I came here to say this exact thing. It is very important, now more than ever, to be completely unfiltered and honest. Coporate media has driven us crazy with their sane washing, gas lighting and capitulation. We don't need that frustration on top of all the other things we are feeling with what is going on. That is why we applauded your presence on Substack, because you are truth teller. When you (and anyone) react honestly, it offers validation, comradery and fortitude to keep fighting. Thank you for being in this fight!

I totally agree! And, I have loved Jim Acosta for years and he was about the only person I watched on CNN clips on Youtube in the past few years after I cut cable. He always speaks truth!

I bought a year's subscription to this the minute I heard he was leaving and I saw he was doing this on Substack! Didn't even have to think twice and let me just say, these videos have been 1000x better than just watching CNN clips of Jim on Youtube! This is pure awesomeness!

I think Jim Acosta should run for President! He has it all!

Heather-Rose, I was thinking the same thing. How different our world would be to have someone with an intelligent political mind who is also able to show compassion for the American people. A president for all!

Wow, now wouldn't this be wonderful...........honesty and integrity..........YES!!! This Canadian would cheer so loud they would hear me in Washington.

He's far more qualified for the office than Trump was, and he's such a great communicator. I think that particular talent is much more necessary for politics in today's media age than it's ever been before. But at the very least, he should start the movement that he and Michael Fanone were talking about - the non-political movement to bring back decency and sanity to America. No Nazis, No Kings!

I'm in total agreement with everything you said. 250,000 subscribers in less than a month is quite an accomplishment but I'm not surprised!

there is something very wrong with a country that lets its employees be bullied and harassed like this.

Expand full comment

absolutely -- and there is something wrong with a government that bullies and harasses its citizens -- this is not a place I wish to stay -- if it were a relationship or a job I'd leave without notice -- but it will be up to us -- the mantle to restore what we have enjoyed but paid for by lives that came before us has been passed to us -- we must realize it was naive to think what we enjoyed and had for 80+ years would never be challenged much lost --

Diagnosed. Personality disordered apartheid nazis in charge. I don’t think so goddammit. These guys can’t be reasoned with and why would we want to do business with psychopaths?!

No fucking way. I won’t sleep well until the entire regime is gone. This is a horde of usurpers.

"Coming in hot" on a Monday is good. Keep it up!

Expand full comment

Jim Acosta, don’t apologize for coming in hot. It’s exactly what is needed in this chaotic evil universe America we find ourselves in. Those who are frightened need to hear & see that there are voices out there fighting for them, as do those still caught in the headlights of disbelief that this is where we are. You just keep being you… No apologies!

For you & readers, especially Kristine Pyzyna above, there are people standing up for our Federal Workers. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, San Antonio, TX, is offering jobs to federal workers impacted by Musk in response to this weekend’s news! This is how we fight, y’all! We do the right thing. We stand with our fellow citizens & help whenever we can, & we keep speaking the truth! To quote John Lewis of GA, “Get in Good Trouble!”

Jim should name his pod “Coming in hot with Jim Acosta” perfect!!! 👌🏼

It was a crazy weekend for sure. It seems that the threats and bullying continues and will continue until congress steps up to the plate. The world is watching America descend into the abyss. Thank you Jim and Michael for standing up for the truth.

OMG what a great show!! Michael Fanone was such a good guest and so right about this problem will not be solved by (just the) Democrats but by Americans that care about democracy, our constitution, kindness and decency. KUDOs. Keep up the great journalism and thank you for coming in SUPER HOT.

Jim, THANK YOU for remembering the thousands of Ukrainian children who have been kidnapped from their families and home country and taken against their will into Russia to disappear. That is a heinous war crime, and I hope I live long enough to see Vladimir Putin in the dock at The Hague for it.

Don't forge the concentration camp at Gitmo. If it comes to it, millions of people will happily turn Trump over to the prosecutors at The Hague.

I thought a Federal Judge in DC banned those pardoned from entering DC without prior court approval. Wouldn't that be a violation of a court order.

Originally they were barred from entering Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Capito building without first obtaining permission. There was strong opposition by Ed Martin, and the judge reversed his decision.

Why Don't people understand that the reason he Asks "what did you do last week," Is because they are too lazy to do their Due Diligence to find out who is essential and who is not. Just like the Jan 6 rioters released, they did not take the time to determine who was really dangerous and who was less Violent. They just said" Fuck It" let them all out...because they wouldn't take the time to read the files.

This is the same they are not willing to take the time to determine who the essential workers are.

Thank you, Jim for another great podcast. I always enjoy Michael Fanone. I totally agree we need to express our outrage. I hope we don't have a civil war, but I do think we will not have the 50 United States we currently have. They don't our Constitution our democratically based Representative Republic - so let the authoritarian States secede. I agree with Michael Fanone we need an American movement.

Stay outraged Jim, Fire is what we need.
