I have to say, you lost me when Steve Schmidt said he thought George Clooney could be a viable option for President. Are you kidding me? He jumped on the bandwagon to get rid of Biden! Imagine his trophy wife in the White House in her $3,000 shoes. Have we not learned anything? This is another very odd assertion by Steve Schmidt. I find him very hard to believe a lot of the time.

I’m a huge Biden supporter, but it was clear he had diminished cognitive abilities. Kamala was a great choice as far as being qualified, knowledgeable about what was going on, and best choice at the last minute. But still a woman. Still a black/Asian woman. Too many “men are king” voters not capable of voting for a woman of any kind. Too many ignorant, racist, misogynistic, homophobic voters etc. who are incapable of making the right choice. Which would’ve been anybody, but Donald Trump of zero moral, ethical character.

And even though I like Clooney, as an advocate, actor, person, I don’t think he’d be right for president.

Enough with the celebrities. Choose men or women with government experience and please make sure they are familiar with the words in our Constitution.

DTJ was considered a "celebrity" of Playboy status, known for his female follies, t.v. shows (the music said it all, folks: Money, money, money, MONEY, and privileged background. I agree, Jan. We do NOT need another celebrity. We need moral character, selflessness, hard-working, compassion, knowledgeable, listening, critical thinkers who can see a WHOLE picture instead of seeing themselves in the mirror. I'm tired of the "me, me, me" chorus that 47 sings every day, all day. Instead of listening to con men talkers, let's look at what people are actually DOING. ACTIONS still speak louder than words. ACTIONS reveal the heart behind the person. Who has shown self-sacrifice? Who has performed their current and past jobs to excellent? Who has shown that others are more important than themselves? Journalists are out there investigating and reporting. Do they see anyone on the horizon? The person may not have notoriety because they are doing things for the right reason and not for selfish motives. I can't FATHOM how tRump even got in again. We saw part of him the first time he was in, but I really looked at what ACTION did he do in the next 4 years, when he wasn't president. He seethed, he blamed, he pointed fingers, he ranted, he tried to make himself richer. Did we THINK he would suddenly become someone else with being elected again after yelling, screaming and having tantrums like, "The election was rigged! I was robbed!" He takes no accountability for the bad but tries to take the credit for whatever little good he does (his "good" is always done for selfish reasons).

For candidates? If you want to get some Republicans and all of the Independents (I am one), we need a centrist Democrat, or maybe a new party. When you move too far left, we lose people. I know that some people like AOC because she is a fighter, but she is a divider. We need a unifier! We need someone with a plan. We need someone who is reasonable. Let's not try to overcompensate by moving too far left and risk losing votes on the right. The people I know who are not die-hard tRumpers but voted for him, will NEVER go far left and will risk someone else from the Party of One. Let's get this mess cleaned up first. Plans are careful and well-thought out. No more chaos!

I agree with the shift too far to the left. But, I am also disgusted with the shift to the right by many well-meaning Republicans. I have to wonder if Biden could have won enough of the independent voters to win the ‘24 election. The Democrats , themselves, threw the election into Trump’s hands. They did the same thing several years ago when they turned on Senator Al Franken during the height of the “MeTwo” movement. The damage is done and now we have to deal with the mess. (A mess, like none other seen in our lifetimes.)

I realize that. You’re missing the point. We don’t need a “personality” dragging us out of this mess, he’s not qualified to do anything except act and hang out in Italy. We are going to need much more in the next leader than a movie star.

I agree. George may offer thoughtful and insightful opinions but he lacks the depth and breadth of knowledge of economics and international affairs. This is something we desperately need. We need a strong leader with experience and temperament. Once again, I’m afraid if we did even considered George Clooney, democrats would look like the only thing we can produce is a Hollywood version of a president. I’m surprised Steve even offered George as a viable solution.

I agree. Not only was George outspoken about Biden as he sat comfortably in another country but we sure don’t need another politician who rose up from Hollywood. (Regan and the current tyrant)

Biden although a good man is not a healthy man we should care most that his health was/is failing and under the pressure of the WH he might not hv made it thru ab2nd term. That is not Clooney’s fault. The problem was allowing Biden to rerun and not having a primary to select a new candidate- the timing was off and the message not persuasive enough even against a horrible candidate like Trump. We need a strong message and a strong person to wield that message like a weapon because if we have anything less we can kiss 2028 goodbye too

An Independent could be Kinzinger.

So no credit for Booker? He’s done some good trouble stuff!

I guess with Schiff what would you like him to do? What specific actions? He’s done enough to get Trumpty’s hackles up to attack him by name on TS. He’s not doing nothing!

Look, I can rattle some names off the top of my head that I couldn’t 4 months ago! If I can name them, they’re standing up and doing things they’ve never ever had to do! What I’m not loving from what I’m seeing online is this constant criticism of what they’re doing! There are still some that are not doing anything different or doing nothing! I don’t know their names and they’re not in this fight.

It’s just my opinion, but it is early.

I’m not going to tear down anyone who is trying with independent media, short videos, new social media, showing up to protests, etc…

The magas don’t have any popular candidates for 2028 either. There was just a poll and Trumpty won. They are in worse shape.

I agree with Aaron… no need for Substack journalists to cuss just because it’s independent media and you “can.” You’re far more cool and classier without the f-words and the taking of the Lord’s name in vain. You show the viewer and our collective cause much more respect when you aren’t swearing. Love what you’re doing here overall. Keep up the great work. We need you!

"I Run the Country and the World"

In a recent interview by The Atlantic journalists, Trump made the following statements, which were published yesterday, April 28, 2025:

"The first time, I had two things to do — run the country and survive; I had all these crooked guys. And the second time, I run the country and the world.”

Donald Trump has accomplished what no other leader in the history of the world ever accomplished, including Adolph Hitler, Napoleon, Genghis Kahn, Charlemagne, Julius or Augustus Caesar; Attila the Hun, Alexander the Great, or Pharoh Thutmose III.

Gaze upon his greatness and despair!

Of course Gavin Newsom is positioning himself to a general election. But he has to win the Democratic primary first, and he tanked his chances of being the Democratic presidential nominee so he 29nt make it to the general election. The problem is not that he was talking to people with different viewpoints. The issue is how he did it and whom he did it with. Agree with Aaron that he will never win over anyone who would follow Steve Bannon and Charlie Kirk. The right way to do it is how Pete Buttigieg did it with the Flagrant guys; at the end of the podcast they actually agreed with him.

These times test every human soul. It is the test of all time. The litmus test of our hearts. What do we love most? Do we love people, or do we love riches? Do we love others as we love ourselves? Do we love God, and are we willing to live like Mother Teresa, the last Pope, Jesus, and other prophets, or do we love the accolades of this world? Jesus said, "Love me, and love others." Pretty simple. Deporting an American child with brain cancer, not love. We aren't to judge, but there is one who will, and I would never want to be in their shoes. These people are sick...cruelty, hate, and greed has always been a condition of the human heart, and they are not on the right side of history. Agree....our country is very sick, very violent, very broken.

What else can we expect, from trump with deporting a 4 year old with cancer. He is sadistic and cruel. He doesn't give a damn about anyone besides himself. If he gets cancer, maybe he can be deported. It won't matter that he is a US citizen since he doesn't care about other US citizens. Amazon, doesn't give a shit. I absolutely refuse to buy anything from them. I think that this 4 year old boy should be mentioned every single day. Don't let him be forgotten. Also, signal need to be brought up over and over. Don't let people forget. Keep all these things live and in everyone's memory. Germany has a billboard of Musk. You can certainly tell what they think of him. Everyone pray for this little 4 year old and his family. God Bless and God Bless America.
