Can we beg you not to invite Scott Jennings on to your/our show, please?

Agree. Republican MAGA traitor.

Have a credo, Jim. No known liars on your show. I understand fairness, I like to hear other sides. But we’re not hearing truth from Republicans. We get Trump apologists and sycophants.

Your guest today said at some point we have to all come to one set of facts. Giving “alternative facts” any voice on your show? Please… no.

He is a smug shit.

Expand full comment

I hate his face

Expand full comment

Absolutely not!

He's a deal breaker for me. I don't need another fascist mouth piece acting like this is all perfectly acceptable.

Please no!!!!!

Ditto! I would have to unsubscribe to your channel.

We are all in agreement about Scott Jennings!

I’ll be missing that episode. I’ve seen enough of him already. He’s beyond hope

Sometimes I think the crazy things Trump says are just meant to draw attention away from the things that his puppetmasters are doing behind the scenes. It's like the Wizard of Oz, "don't pay attention to the man behind the curtain". He's nuts, yes, and demented, but he still falls back on his time worn BS to throw people off. Trump really doesn't care what he says, if he's wrong, or who he freaks out.

Totally agree - this is part of the Steve Bannon playbook of "flood the zone with s#it" and trying to distract from their real activities behind the scenes

thanks -- how reassuring then -- all that is happening and all that is said is not real and just a distraction -- he's no threat just a guy flooding the zone with shit -- how does that explain today -- tell that to the people who have been assaulted and removed from their offices and the newly CIA agents whose first names and last initial were released by DOGE now terrified -- just a distraction -- Trump and Kushner want Gaza -- it was reported soon after Trump left -- it was reported again before he was re-elected in Roll Call on 10/17/24 and 10/31/24 -- the White House backed away saying there is no "commitment" but believe it there is a plan -- and it needs to be "closed" to enrich Trump and Kushner and whatever entity has promised funding likely the Arabs -- just a distraction

Expand full comment

Not all that is happening - just these big dramatic announcements like the Tariffs and now Gaza - what you’re describing is the real evil stuff and that’s what they’re trying to distract attention from I think, talk about the deep state…

Expand full comment

well said -- but to divide the reality into the palatable and unpalatable is itself a distraction from the reality -- there is nothing palatable about Trump's intentions for our country and his disregard of our rights and plans for our future generations -- our allies and our enemies read him better than we do -- we need to turn over every rock and take everything he says as serious -- for example Trump and Kushner want Gaza -- let's start with that -- but like anything they are not going to pay for it -- we will pay for it -- there are no distractions in this war he started with the people of this country -- frame it as if you were living in Ukraine -- they do not speak of Putin's missives as being just a distraction -- they take him very seriously -- we should have dropped the "just a distraction" comfort food so we can sleep yesterday -- look to Ukraine -- look to Georgia -- look how Hitler was not believed or read correctly -- or not-- we can just go along and continue to divide Trump into the palatable and unpalatable -- and talk ad nauseum about it -- then live with the consequences of not jumping on everything this man says and does -- it takes a good dose of PTSD to respond this way -- and perhaps our country needs to lose everything to understand it from the other side -- then generations from now long after many of us are gone some future generation can claw themselves back coming from a place of losing it all and a life of trauma having inherited a lost democracy

Apologies, I'm borrowing the word "distraction" from the right wing rhetoric around all this - no disrespect meant to the seriousness of all of this. I would say the only way the Gaza plan could go ahead would be if Egypt and SA were in agreeance and it seems they're definitely not, next steps - really don't know!

Or, maybe he wants a trump hotel there . . .

either way, he is the worst president ever . . .

Of course he wants a hotel - it’s all about him!

To not take Trump's every word seriously at this time is foolish; to not believe what is written in Project 2025 is his plan would be naive; for collectively not believing him has resulted in the greatest tragedy and will be a blow to the world; we need to be more responsible and sober going forward; and we need to start showing outrage every step of the way; we're ready!

Expand full comment

I beg to differ. I never voted for him and saw him for what he is right out of the starting gate. The fools are the ones who have consistently voted for him, even after the disaster of his first administration, his legal troubles and convictions, and the constant, incredibly stupid things he says, does and lies about. So, "we" are not all fools.

Expand full comment

to not take all of him as a threat and divide what he says into two camps "distraction" and "real" is foolish and something we should drop -- my post is not meant as an insult but a comeuppance but to each their own

I think Trump is a placeholder. Unless we stand up for our Democracy, there will be another placeholder waiting in the wings.

Expand full comment

No doubt he would like Jarrad to do as he has been saying for a while now but I’ll be the cynical puppet masters behind the scenes have encouraged him to say this fully knowing it would never happen even if Trump actually did think possible - flood the zone!

Expand full comment

so, you think it will never happen, and this is all a big plot orchestrated by puppet masters encouraging him to say things so we can be distracted -- noted

Agree!

You'd be providing a great service if you devote time to discussing what Democrats can do, since you asked the question:

Democrats have the power to grind Senate business to a halt and force Republicans to feel the political cost of backing Trump’s extremist agenda. Like Mitch McConnell they can try every trick in the book and act as a unified force.

Here’s how:

Deny a Quorum: If Republicans don’t have 51 votes in the chamber, Democrats can walk out and shut down Senate business entirely.

Block Unanimous Consent: Object to every procedural shortcut, forcing Republicans to take the longest possible route for every step of the confirmation process.

Max Out Debate Time: Use all 30 hours of debate on Vought to expose Project 2025, Musk’s Treasury takeover, and the funding freeze.

Delay and Disrupt: Force roll-call votes, quorum calls, and procedural delays to slow everything down.

Blanket Opposition: Democrats cannot continue to vote for Trump’s other nominees, helping to install more MAGA loyalists into powerful positions in the federal government while this power grab continues.

No Business as Usual: This is a constitutional crisis.

Thank you for this, inspires me to know, we have some working in the fight against this treason. In the coming weeks we need someone to step forward to develop a plan for the streets, for the economic pressure and for political pressure. .... we don't have until 2026.

Excellent -- I have saved it to read over again and again -- and will restack it -- are you in touch with representatives -- maybe a fact to face or letter -- they will respond. I love it!!

Surprised? Shocked, heartbroken, feel betrayed by the American people who voted for him. I don’t understand WHY or WHO would vote for a monster like this? What the MUSK is going on?

Trump wants our tax dollars to clean up Gaza then he can build hotels and casino to make money. He said he would give jobs to the Palestinians. What a great deal! He is insane!

Only thing that I would like about that deal is if he would move there and leave us alone.

Jim, we need to evaluate what is going on behind the scene. The tariff and Gaza craziness may be smoke and mirrors while there are many more nefarious activities taking place while our attention is diverted.

I just said the same thing.

There’s the key. Is he in command?! Is he competent?

First -- his intentions for GAZA were reported in ROLL CALL on 10/31/24. He also made reference to this use of the "real estate" in Gaza soon after he lost the first election. Am I literally in the minority as I am not surprised only surprised and deeply not impressed the media and the voters are surprised. It is so tiring as it happens over and over again!
