Sometimes blue-eyed blondes (I am one) breathe a sigh of relief because no one is coming for them. Though I have never felt that way, I truly believe that when they come for one, they come for all. I can't say that I believe in a Jesus who reached out to the poor, foreigners, the sick, and the hungry, and then turn my back on other people because this Administration is not yet coming for me. Those people may feel and be safe for now, but are they veterans? On Social Security or Medicaid or have family in those categories? Work in a government position that was slashed and burned? Work in an industry or on a farm? Are they female, which 2025 is talking about having an ID that matches our birth certificates- patriarchy wanted us to change our last names. There are countless other categories. No one is safe at some point, but yes it is true that if not in another category, their skin coloring protects them... for now. If it is "privilege" we have, let us use it to stand up and speak out for those who cannot or are not protected.
Unless we are Native Americans, we are ALL immigrants, for many different reasons. My father's ancestors came here in the early 1600s due to religious persecution. Then they came here to be persecuted by the Puritans! So they started their own town and church (now called Stelton Baptist in Piscataway, NJ). My mother's father was only a generation or two away from being immigrants, while my Polish grandmother came due to Poland being controlled by Russia. Everyone should delve into their family tree, because we gain an understanding of our history and pride for our ancestors survived and flourished. They were fortunate to escape their troubles in a foreign land (America). Now WE are the source of the trouble. :(
I guess Chris forgot that trump told them not to work on the border with the democrats I guess Chris forgot how the economy got out of control under trump and all his COVID handouts to cover up his bumbling on handling it and how Biden reigned it in while creating jobs and manufacturing when everyone said we were going to go into a recession? When trump took office inflation was under 3% on track to 2% with lowering interest rates and high gdp. The corporations raised the food prices not Biden democrats were guilty of not communicating via social media news everywhere what they were doing while Russian bot farms X trump and all the cronies were spreading lies and misinformation and it tipped that small amount of voters and a lot of voters stayed home or votes weren’t counted?? On top of Biden not stepping down. Here we are now trump wrecking our economy wanting people to kiss his big flat orange ass wrecking it possibly beyond repair he will be dead we will pay for this
I guess Chris forgot that the media constantly sane-washed Trump and ridiculed Biden and blamed him for Afghanistan withdrawal when Biden had to go with what Trump had decided. There were deaths, yes, tragically. I guess Chris forgot that the media didn’t mention how many troops died while Trump was in office. I could go on.
Right after seeing Michael, had to go listen to Woody Guthrie’s “Deportee.” (Well, Arlo’s version, lol.) It’s been in my mind for months and it’s SO freaking relevant now, as it always was: “Who are all these friends, all scattered like dry leaves? The radio says, "They are just deportees." - W.G. I still get the chills every time I hear it.

Trump lied nonstop on the campaign trail for four years of Biden's presidency. Biden and his administration did masses of great work, including relieving thousands of people from crippling student debt. But that's not OK. Why? I'm not going to enumerate the Biden accomplishments because, for unfathomable reasons, they supposedly mean squat to voters. However, Trump lying, swearing, threatening, slurring, --- that's messaging? Really? I guess so since 77+ million voted for him. Would it have been better if Kamala had appeared drunk onstage or Tim Walz had mooned the crowd? Because that would be the equivalent messaging to what Trump was doing. I don't characterize myself by political party. But no matter what the Democrats are "messaging," it's for adults, not louts. So the messaging more depends on the audience at hand. Goons and louts dictate to us (throws hands in air) because that's the message that thrilled them.
