Jim - while you were away, we had the Network NOVA Women's Summit outside Washington, DC. We, too, discussed who would be drafting our own "Project 2026," or perhaps "Progress 2026." Maybe it will be the most crowd-sourced document in the history of the United States! You and your guests can get us started on it.

brilliant idea, and i think "progress 2026" is a wonderfully descriptive and optimistic title. we need all the optimism we can get.

Sarah Longwell has formed a new organization called Home of the Brave. It’s goal is to drive down Trump‘s. Approval rating about 32%. She believes that that level will neuter him and take Vance with him. To do that, they are soliciting people to send in videos talking about how what Trump has done has affected their lives. Please spread the word. https://ofthebrave.org/

Glad you had a great time.

I just would like to say that, amongst all the rhetoric, THERE ARE PEOPLE IN IRAN. The fucking GOVERNMENT is NOT THE PEOPLE. ANYWHERE!

My beautiful, intelligent, kind, loving DIL—mother to my 2 beautiful grandsons—is from Iran. She and her fam are ALL American citizens.

She’s dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s (between the U.S. and Iran you have no idea how many there are), and was planning to visit family in Iran in September. I have no idea whether she will actually go, but no one in the U.S. seems to recognize the HUMAN side to warring countries. It’s fucking RIDICULOUS!!

There are PEOPLE in countries, not just warring dickhead “leaders”.

The world would be so much the better if women were in charge, rather than small dicks doing circle jerks.

As a first-generation Iranian-American, thank you for pointing this out!! Christiane Amanpour put it very well recently when she said the Iranian people as a whole have been so dehumanized and pretty much left out of the conversation. It's beyond fucked up. Amen to your last sentence though, we need more women leading—some of these men are too emotional ;)

Mostly, i agree, but i can't help but think that Margaret Thatcher and Golda Meir were not exactly peacemakers. There's really no point in demonizing men - i think we can look a the current regime and see women as loathesome as almost any man. Who can match Levitt as a liar? Or Melania Trump for selfishness and greed? Or Noam for cruelty, or Gabbard for simple-mindedness? or . . . . ugh! Maybe we should ask the Bonobos to take over.

Wholeheartedly agree with you. And let us not forget Kelly Ann Conway. Demonizing anyone is not helpful. I know many, many people who are heartbroken for the Iranian as well as the Pakistani people. Not to mention North Korea, China, and the horror happening in Africa. Any human being caught up in wars, not of their making. When what we want is to simply live our lives. So we can love and care for our families.

There's good and bad on both sides of the sexes. I think we are now having to hear more from the females, who are becoming so outspoken. I believe, that it was mostly men that were outspoken (not all by any means, just a few), but it seems, to me, that women are catching us. I blame this on trump, with the spreading of the lies and his verbally attacking people that he doesn't like.

Gee, I’m sorry you can’t think of any capable female peacemakers. Maybe look around at someone who’s alive today?

Omg! I went on a 12 day cruise with the same intention: to “unplug“. I had the same level of success you did, which is to say: none. It’s like a bad movie that you can’t turn off, only worse. This is our reality now- watching our country “circle the drain”. Welcome back, Jim. We’re still here fighting the good fight! Onward!

I was just about to comment on Jim’s legs 🙂. So glad he was able to unplug for a bit. We all need to do that though life and the crazy 🤡 🚘 at Pennsylvania Ave continuously interrupts.

Portugal - I dream of visiting (along w/Spain). We were able to send our son on a school trip there & he loved it! One of my friends moved to Spain very recently and her dog is doing great.

And, as a resident worrywart, I will say Mr. Mamdani does give me some hope! Welcome back.
